Objectives

(1) To identify associations between available PFAS concentration data in human serum and corresponding serum lipids and metabolomics data, (2) To establish dose-response relationships between serum data on PFAS concentrations and metabolomics observations of relevance for cardiovascular disease, (3) To utilize the metabolomics dose-response data for further development of adverse outcome pathways (AOPs) of relevance for cardiovascular disease, and 4) To include all the generated mechanistic and quantitative information into a probabilistic assessment of cardiovascular disease risk following exposure to individual PFAS or PFAS-mixtures.

Planned secondment(s):

UiT (M31, 4w) for human exposure assessment training.

ETZ (M41, 2w) for policy training.

VU (M20, 8w) for metabolomics training.

1-day visits to a local wastewater treatment facility (Svenskt Vatten) ( M12 after ATC3) and UFZ (after ATC6 in M24).
