1) To evaluate innovative treatment techniques for the decomposition and removal of PFASs in stormwater, groundwater, wastewater and landfill leachate including a) membrane techniques, b) electrochemical treatment, c) sonochemical treatment, d) new innovative sorbents, or a combination of (a-d). (2) To compare the novel treatment techniques (a-d) with currently applied treatment techniques. 3) To apply the developed treatment technique for the removal of PFASs at waste water treatment plants and landfills.
GEHC/Erik Wall (M24, 8 w) for training and analysis of PFASs together with ESR12. VU/Hamers (M18, 8 w) to perform a number of in vitro toxicity bioassays before and after remediation. Visits to a wastewater treatment facility (Svenskt Vatten) (M12 after ATC3) and UFZ/Berger (after ATC6 in M24).
