Objectives
To determine if fluorinated and non-fluorinated alternatives are safer, more sustainable alternatives to long-chain PFASs in selected consumer products and to propose options for the assessment, regulation and management of alternative PFASs where necessary. |
Planned secondment(s):
HSF (M13, 4w), for training on chemistry of PFASs;
OECD (M22, 4w), to learn about international programs and OECD activities on PFASs;
UBA (M31, 4w) to learn about the European debate about regulation of PFASs and concepts for assessing extremely persistent substances.
1-day visits to a wastewater treatment facility (Svenskt Vatten; M12 following ATC3), and UFZ (following ATC6 in M24).
